CETL FACULTY video production Studio

Located on the Clearwater campus, the CETL Video Production Studio is available to all SPC faculty. The studio provides support for the creation of short introductory and supplemental instructional videos for courses, as well as assistance with editing videos recorded on other digital devices.

Our green screen recording equipment seamlessly integrates background images and slideshows into your video during recording. Paired with our state-of-the-art teleprompter, you only need to provide a script or PowerPoint file. We support a wide range of recordings, from self-introductions and brief topic overviews to full video podcasts.

• Reservations: Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
• Each video should cover a different topic and not exceed 10 minutes in total length.
• Please remember not to wear any GREEN colored clothing and accessories for your video.
• Our state-of-the-art teleprompter supports a wide range of formats, including Word, PowerPoint, Keynote, and any website.
• You may invite students to join you as long as they provide written consent to be recorded and you accompany them during the entirety of the video recording session.

Tips to create a great video

• Create either a script in Word or a PowerPoint presentation.
• Write in as conversational and as friendly a tone as you can.
• Use short sentences.
• Write for the ear — not for the eye (most people will only hear video narration so you can be informal and use contractions).
• Read the script or slideshow aloud to help you hear where you need to make changes.
• Rehearse and practice before recording.
• Don’t worry about a little mistake. It can humanize your video.
