Bringing Small Business to Career and Technical Education

SPC Workforce Education, in partnership with the College of Business and Pinellas County Schools, is excited to invite SPC Faculty and A&P Staff college-wide to participate in a paid training focused on introducing Entrepreneurial Mindset concepts in CTE classrooms. As a part of the Florida Department of Education’s Entrepreneurship and Training grant (EET), SPC Faculty and A&P Staff can earn supplemental pay for taking part in a three-part training program created and delivered by the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE). Participants will then be asked to form teams of 2-3 students to compete in the SPC Business Plan & Elevator Pitch Competition in April 2021. Winners from the Pitch competition will earn prizes and be invited to compete in a Regional competition with teams from our partnering schools in Hillsborough County. 

Details:  

Supplemental pay for attendance in training will be provided to participants. Career service staff are ineligible to receive supplemental pay.

Requirements: 

  • Attend three NFTE training sessions on bringing entrepreneurship training into CTE classrooms
  • Form and mentor a team of students for the SPC Business Plan & Elevator Pitch Competition in April 2021

Training Dates/Time: 

  • Friday 2/19, 3:00 – 7:00
  • Friday 2/26, 3:00 – 7:00
  • Monday 3/1, 5:00 – 8:00
